Being balanced isn't boring. Being is just what it is. Who denotes these scales? Kindness exists. Soup making. As Angela Carter said I make potato soup, how do you make yours? ( Not a.direct quote!) X
Thanks for this Ben. I’ve often had similar thoughts myself, wondering if we were all ‘healed’ and balanced, or if we all had some near perfect upbringing, would we just be some homogeneous mass with little to differentiate between us?
An interesting question. I seek not 'balance' but 'integration' (off all parts of myself, of my shadow). Different in concept though perhaps similar in outcome - rounding off the 'sharp edges'. I feel more whole and at peace since I began that quest 10 years ago. Am I more boring as a result? Ask Sophie!
There is also beauty to the sweet, Trebor soft mints. What if the 'imbalance' you talk about was the rounded sweetness and those individuals decided to amplify that trait in themselves? I kind of envy people that have these traits because I believe they may be more at peace with themselves. Saying that, I much prefer the complexity of those who have exaggerated personality traits. They are infinitely more interesting and fun to get to know.
At the same time, what if someone's most dominant traits (which would be easier to amplify) are all self destructive or harmful to others around them?
